The Full Story

On December 23, 1939, in the heart of Córdoba, Veracruz, Panadería La Mexicana was born. Founded by Don Eleuterio Sánchez Saavedra and Jovita Saavedra, with the unwavering support of Gil Rodríguez, the bakery quickly became a cornerstone of the local community. Over the years, this family-owned business earned a reputation for its authentic Mexican flavors and artisanal craftsmanship, becoming a leader in the bakery industry in the central region of Veracruz.

With its exceptional service and dedication, Panadería La Mexicana was celebrated in Mexican newspapers, admired for the quality of its products and its heartfelt connection to the community. As the bakery flourished, the tradition was passed down to sons, cousins, and new generations, ensuring the legacy of its founders lived on.

Today, under the leadership of Montserrat Enriquez, the great-granddaughter of the founders, the family tradition continues to thrive. Montserrat brings over two decades of experience working in restaurants, combining her culinary expertise with the bakery's time-honored recipes. Now located in Lynn, Massachusetts, the bakery embarks on a new chapter, blending the rich heritage of Mexican baking with influences from Guatemala, inspired by Montserrat's husband, Evner Natareno.

 

Even the great-great-grandkids of Don Eleuterio and Jovita are part of this journey, contributing their energy and passion to the new business location. Panadería La Mexicana remains dedicated to its roots, preserving the flavors and values that have united generations, while embracing new traditions to delight every customer.
